Beulah Eisle Stevenson was an American artist and printmaker known for her expressive landscapes and contributions to the mid-20th century American art scene. A native of New York, she served as curator at the Brooklyn Museum of Art and was a key figure in promoting contemporary art. Her works, often focusing on natural scenes and regional landscapes, were notable for their vibrant color and bold compositions. She traveled widely, and the rugged terrain and unique light of the Southwest offered new inspiration. 'Mountains Near Santa Fe, ca. 1949', is a color lithograph that exemplifies her mastery of the medium, blending vivid hues with dynamic lines to capture the rugged beauty and expansive feel of the Southwestern landscape.
