Chuck Sabatino is an American painter based in Scottsdale, Arizona, best known for meticulously detailed still lifes centered on historic and prehistoric Southwestern Pueblo pottery, Native American artifacts, and, at times, photographs by Edward S. Curtis. Born in the Bronx, New York, he studied at the Cartoon & Illustrator School, later the School of Visual Arts, and spent roughly twenty-five years working in New York advertising as an art director and television producer before turning his full attention to painting after retiring to Arizona in 1988. His work is especially noted for its photorealist finish, warm palette, and careful arrangement of culturally resonant objects, and it has been featured in publications including Southwest Art and Art of the West.
