Luis Jimenez's "American Dream" is a vibrant color lithograph created in 1972 and printed at Landfall Press in Chicago. The work's bold, expressive composition highlights the tension between the idealized vision of the American Dream and the often harsh realities faced by working-class individuals, particularly Mexican-Americans. Across his oeuvre, Jimenez's work shows his deep engagement with issues of identity and cultural expectations. "American Dream" stands out as an exemplary example of both his mastery of printmaking, as well as his talent for using popular imagery to explore complex social themes.
