Michael Bergt is a renowned contemporary artist known for his mastery of figurative art and classical techniques. His work has been featured in numerous exhibitions and collections including those at the Palmer Museum of Art, Arnot Art Museum, the New Mexico Museum of Art, and the Butler Institute of American Art, the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the Arkansas Arts Center. The artist explains, "In my sculpture "Paradox"....One head/direction/color is in direct relation to its equal and interdependent other. We sit on top of this situation realizing it as a paradox, because we're no longer able to see just one aspect separate from the other. We can't just see one direction, or one color of horse. Through the tension of this paradox we can achieve insights. (https://michaelbergtart.com)"
  • Condition: Overall in good condition. Repair patch to patina found on the nose of white horse approximately the size of a nickel. Several scattered areas of possible abrasion to the black patina that do not seem to impinge on the overall good impression of the sculpture.

The condition reports for the lots offered by Santa Fe Art Auction (SFAA) are provided as a courtesy and convenience for potential buyers. The reports are not intended to nor do they substitute for physical examination by a buyer or the buyer's advisors. The condition reports are prepared by SFAA staff members who are not art conservators or restorers, nor do they possess the qualifications needed for comprehensive evaluation. Each condition report is an opinion of the staff member and should not be treated as a statement of fact.
