Two tin frames attributed to José María Apodaca (1844 - 1924).
(1) Tin Frame with Round Print. ca. 1875. Rectangular opening with peeled back tin sections, creating curled effect. Shaped tin frame edges with fancy multi-layer rosettes placed in each corner and all sides. Red and green paint residue on rosettes. Small round print “Santo Niflo Appears as a Vision to Man in Bed”. Dimensions: 9 3/4 x 7 3/4 x 1 in.
(2) Tin Frame with Devotional Print. ca. 1875. One sheet of tin with cut away curved sides and pointed corners; center has been peeled back in a curled fashion. Stamped rosettes in each corner and interlocking circular stamps throughout. Devotional print placed over blue and yellow wallpaper. Dimensions: 8 5/8 x 6 1/4 x 1 in.
