    Born in Kansas City, Missouri, William Thomas Lumpkins moved to New Mexico in the 1930s, where he developed a profound connection to the region's landscapes, cultures, and light. His artistic journey evolved over decades, leading him to experiment with various styles, including modernism and abstract expressionism. In the early 1990s, Lumpkins created his renowned High Desert Series, a body of work that captures the essence of the New Mexico landscape through bold colors and dynamic forms. Lumpkins exhibited widely throughout his career, with his work included in prestigious collections such as the New Mexico Museum of Art and the National Museum of American Art.
  • Condition: This work is in good to very good condition overall.
    There is a minor tear at the left margin edge that has been stabilized with archival mending tape.
