translation of Spanish inscription verso:
"Group of the god Bacas and nymphs. Beautiful study on sanquine (conte) from the 17th century. The school is Dutch or Flemish which were interchangeable in 1650. As Spain reigned in Flanders for many years in the 16th and 17th centuries, there are, within the great Spanish families today many conte works by the greatest Flemish painters from that period."

  • Condition: This work is in good condition overall, relative to its date of creation.
    Spots of discoloration at the upper margin.
    A couple small, scattered spot of loss.
    Scattered spots of surface soiling.
