    Max Aguilera-Hellweg (b. 1955) is a photographer, writer, filmmaker and trained physician, whose work sits at the crossroads of art, medicine, and science. He began in magazines as a teenager (darkroom/assistant work at Rolling Stone), then built a career shooting portraits and editorial features for outlets such as National Geographic, Smithsonian, The New Yorker, and Rolling Stone.
    For his La Frontera Sin Sonrisa series he made portraits along the Mexican side of the Texas border. Using 4×5 Polaroid Type-55 film, he was able to gave sitters the positive, and kept the negative.
  • Condition: This booklet with original photographs is in very good condition overall.
